A View from JayMan’s Perspective
Jay (aka JayMan) is a #1 taste tester, however his actual involvement in the cooking, is minimal at best. As everyone in the family is contributing, we decided to think of other questions that he could answer and help you get to know our almost 8 year old, enjoy! :)
What do you enjoy giving people? Giving Gabby Pokémon cards, giving my family cuddles and hugs, and phone calls to my family.
If you opened a store, what would you sell? I might sell some of my Pokémon, because I have a lot. I would also sell soft blankets because I have a lot and I don’t need a lot of blankets.
If you could grow anything in the yard, what would it be? I would grow watermelon, wheat (to feed my Minecraft cows), strawberries, and cucumbers.
Pretend you're a chef, and tell me about your restaurant. What foods do you serve? I would serve chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, fruit, and mutton.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever eaten? Frostbite hot sauce
What is your favorite movie or series? X-Men
What is your favorite YouTube channel? Power9Quest, Dude Perfect, and Taco Game Time
Who is your favorite Avenger or X-Men? Wolverine
What is your favorite thing to do? Talk with family and play Minecraft. “This is what I do in Minecraft: I build a cave house because I do not like to making a normal house.”
What is your favorite activity to do inside or outside? Sort my Pokémon and throw the football with Dad or Dom and make diving catches!
The Beginning
Hello! My name is Anmarie and I am a freshman at DeSales High School. This has been a crazy year, but the fact that my dad was able to start a business is really cool. The idea for a biscuit-central place came from a walk around the neighborhood. I had asked my dad questions about how you start a business and some of the financial responsibilities. To explain this to me, he used the example of a biscuit place. At the time, we had called this made-up place Son of a Biscuit. We then joked about different biscuits we could try, references we could make (one of my favorites was Biscuits of Unusual Size as a nod to The Princess Bride), and many other things. After about a week, we started really brainstorming how this could become reality. My dad researched and tried many different recipes and methods to create the biscuit we sell today. We have had hour-long talks about the future of Twisted Biscuit and what else we can do.
Although the quarantine was hard, it was extremely important to the blueprint of Twisted Biscuit. Without the pandemic, Twisted Biscuit would have remained a “what if” for a while. We were able to adjust things to fit the current situation and improve on the ideas. Thank you for all of your support!

Gabby’s Minute Review
A quick check-in with Gabby about creating in the kitchen with Dad :)
What did you get to test this week? Hot chocolate and delicious peppermint and regular marshmallows
What are your thoughts? I like the crunchy part and the peppermint of the candy cane in the marshmallows. As for the hot chocolate, I wanted more after I finished my first glass. I loved everything!
What are you excited to test out next? All the Christmas cookies!! My favorite cookie right now are the chocolate chips and I can’t wait for the Grinch Fingers!
Two Weeks In….
This has been an amazing, stressful, exhilarating, humbling first two weeks for our business and our family. What started as a “what if we…” and now taking the leap, has been a welcomed change. I have loved seeing friends and family-members at porch pick-ups, seeing the excitement in the eyes of our kids when they help taste-test, and the support and encouragement from our community. We took the Thanksgiving holiday to truly stop and appreciate all that we have been given and this opportunity is at the top of the list. This weekend, John is perfecting more recipes including marshmallows and hot chocolate mix. We asked the kids and are creating the Top 6 lineup of our Christmas cookie favorites (Grinch Fingers are top of their list) for holiday trays. We look forward to seeing you and being a small part of your upcoming holiday season. Thank you again for your support, feedback, and kind words. We truly appreciate it!
